Education:
B.S., Vanderbilt University, 1998
M.S., Boston University, 2001
M.D., Boston University, 2006
Why I work at Neighborcare Health:
I chose to work at Neighborcare Health because I want to contribute my professional and personal energies toward healing and empowering patients, particularly the economically poor. Since the founding of the U.S. community health center movement in the late 1950s, generations of committed groups of people from around the country have devoted themselves to assuring an equal standard of basic health care services for all. Like all of my colleagues, I share this mission, and enjoy working with our multi-disciplinary team and patients toward solutions that keep individuals and communities healthy.
Other:

Chris completed training in both internal medicine and public health in June 2009. During his training, he had the opportunity to practice clinical medicine and public health in challenging settings, including India, Mozambique, and Nicaragua. “This has made me a better and more empathic physician,” he says.

After nearly two years working at Harborview Medical Center as an in-patient hospitalist, Chris decided to join Neighborcare Health because of our commitment “to preventing people from falling off the cliff of good health.” He continues to work in Nicaragua with a small non-governmental organization and the ministry of health, as well as teach medical and public health students as a faculty member in the University of Washington Department of Global Health.

Chris was born and raised in Richmond Beach, Washington and is excited to be back in the Pacific Northwest after living in Nashville, Boston, Miami, Mozambique and Nicaragua between 1994 and 2010. Although he enjoys swimming laps at the YMCA, he particularly enjoys spending time with his family and members of the local Greek Orthodox community, particularly his wife, Maria.
