Mary Mittell, ARNP, CNM

Education:
University of Richmond, BA, 1998
Vanderbilt University, RN/MSN, Nurse-Midwifery, 2003
Certification:
Certified Nurse Midwifery, 2004
Why I work at Neighborcare Health:
Midwives monitor the physical progress of our patients' pregnancies, and we also attend to their emotional needs. This holistic understanding of pregnancy allows me to develop much closer relationships with my patients, and to tailor the care they receive to reflect their individual needs. My hope is that a family's experience during pregnancy and childbirth teaches them lessons that helps prepare them for parenting.
Other:

After graduating from Vanderbilt, Mary worked as a nurse-midwife for a community health center in San Diego, California before relocating to Seattle. She spent her early childhood in Oak Harbor, Washington and is very glad to be back in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Outside of midwifery, she spends most of her time doing DIY house projects with her husband and chasing after their two young daughters.
