Certified Nurse Midwifery, 2004
Why I work at Neighborcare Health:
Midwives monitor the physical progress of their patients' pregnancies, but they also attend to their emotional needs. This holistic understanding of pregnancy allows me to develop much closer relationships with my patients, and to tailor the care they receive to reflect their individual needs. My hope is that a family'ss experience during pregnancy and childbirth teaches them lessons that helps prepare them for parenting.
After graduating from Vanderbilt, Mary worked as a nurse-midwife for a community health center in San Diego, California for four years. She has lived many different places growing up, but spent her early childhood in Oak Harbor, Washington. She is glad to be back in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. In her spare time she enjoys salsa dancing, knitting, yoga, biking and traveling.
