One of Neighborcare Health’s most exciting new ventures is the Teaching Dental Center, which will open in the Pacific Tower in the fall of 2015.

The Teaching Dental Center is an innovative patient-centered dental clinic with a dual purpose: to provide a well-rounded educational experience, as well as access to affordable dental care for low-income individuals.

At the Teaching Dental Center, dental hygiene students from Seattle Central College, and dental assistant students from Seattle Vocational Institute will be engaged in the day-to-day activities of serving patients in a full-service dental clinic. Neighborcare Health will generate and appoint patients, will employ clinical staff and operate the clinic, and ensure quality. Seattle Central College and Seattle Vocational Institute will enroll and instruct students, employ faculty, establish academic standards and will grade and bestow degrees.

The Teaching Dental Center creates a richer learning environment for students in both programs, while greatly increasing access for low-income people seeking access to dental care by adding a 20 dental chair clinic to Neighborcare Health’s community presence.

Seeing the value in this project, The Boeing Company decided to partner with us by making a philanthropic investment of $90,000 to support the planning and development of this new model for dental access and workforce development.

We’re so very proud of this partnership, and grateful for the support of The Boeing Company to make it possible.
