Beginning June 23, 2015, Neighborcare Health will start operating its first mobile dental van in partnership with Medical Teams International at the Greenwood location. This new dental clinic on wheels will provide much needed access to services for patients in Seattle’s north end.

“The van is an effort to bridge the gap in dental services until Meridian opens, and we are excited about partnering with Medical Teams International on this venture!” said Sarah Vander Beek, chief dental officer.

In November, Neighborcare Health will open the Meridian Center for Health, which will include a 12-chair dental clinic. Currently, Neighborcare Health has only four dental chairs in the north end at our 45th Street Clinic, largely reserved for children and pregnant women. There is no safety-net dental access for uninsured adults in the area.

The new dental van will help us to start to meet the need for dental services within the community prior to the opening of the Meridian Center for Health. “The primary benefit is obviously expanding dental access to patients; however, adding the dental van also gives our team a chance to begin learning details of dental clinic operations and bringing on new dental team members earlier than anticipated,” said Jenny Brackett, manager of the Greenwood and Meridian clinics.

Established Neighborcare Health patients can make an appointment at Greenwood's dental van by calling (206) 782-8660 starting in June. Happy dental trails!
