Ballard Homeless Clinic
In August of 2011, Neighborcare Health and Compass Housing Alliance were awarded a grant by the Health Care for the Homeless Network to create the Ballard Homeless Clinic as part of the Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness in King county and United Way Blueprint to End Chronic Homelessness.
Instead of operating as an urgent care or emergency medical site, Ballard Homeless Clinic will provide primary health care, including annual physicals, urgent/episodic care, wound care, chronic disease management, mental health and chemical dependency counseling, immunization administration, and limited lab testing.
The Ballard Homeless Clinic will have a temporary site until the construction of the Nyer Urness House is completed by Compass Housing Alliance in 2013.
